Following a request put out to Maine lobstermen, buoys from up and down the coast are beginning to appear at the museum. The buoys, and more importantly the stories of the men and women who fish with them, will become a permanent part of the largest, most comprehensive lobstering exhibit in the state: opening July 2015! So far we have received buoys from Boothbay, Swans Island, Harpswell and Portland, just to name a few.
Buoys can be delivered to the museum anytime, or dropped off at the Maine Lobstermen's Association table at the Maine Fishermen's Forum, March 5-7. All the details are available here.
