Building the Greenland Kayak Paddle

October 19 — 20

8 a.m. — 4 p.m.  Boatshop Workshops

Because they are efficient over long distances and in windy conditions Greenland paddles are becoming more popular every yer for kayak touring. Their shape reduces stress on elbow and shoulder jointes while giving smooth and controllable power on the water.

Your instructor will be sheerwater and wood duck kayak designer Eric Schade who has been building these excellent West Greenland-style paddles for years.

In this two day workshop you'll learn to carve a traditional paddle sized to meet your personal needs, from a solid plank adn finished with a coating of linseed oil. These paddles are beautiful, exquisitely llight, and made by you.
