This one-hour trolley tour, conducted from mid-May to late-October, takes you behind the gates of Bath Iron Works to see how modern U.S. Navy destroyers are built and to learn why the phrase "Bath Built is Best Built" rings true at this ultra-modern facility.

In 2013, you'll see the Navy's most modern surface combant DDG 1000 Zumwalt being built. This first of a new class of ships encorporates the latest in design and technology for a true paradigm shift in warship design and capability.

You'll also see work progressing on the next Arleigh Burke class guided missile destroyer. The ships of this class are the mainstay of today's U.S. Navy fleet.

Don't be disappointed - tour capacity is limited and advance reservations are strongly recommended. It is often necessary to book your tour at least several days in advance.

2013 Tour Fees (includes admission to Museum)

Adults: $27 Members / $35 Nonmembers

Youth: $17 under 17

This tour is not recommended for children under 12 years of age.

There's lots of great news about the BIW Trolley Tour for 2013.

First, the season has been extended two weeks in October, with a full schedule of tours, to accommodate more of our fall visitors.

The two-tours-a-day schedule on weekdays in July and August has been brought back this year, so more visitors can participate.

The shakedown season for the new crimson City of Bath red trolley, which holds more passengers and is much more comfortable than it's green predecessor, is behind us, and we're ready to roll.

The additional tours mean that fewer visitors will miss the opportunity to take this very special one-of-a-kind tour, and the new trolley makes the trip more comfortable.

But remember the secret is to make reservations ahead of time as the tours tend to sell-out days, sometimes weeks, in advance.

So don't delay - make your reservations today. It's easy and convenient. Just use the link below.
