Estuary Habitats at Maine Maritime Museum
February 20 @ 10:00 am - 11:30 am
Located just downriver from the nearly 20,000-square-mile watershed of Merrymeeting Bay, Maine Maritime Museum’s 20-acre campus is home to an array of animal species and their habitats. In this 90-minute program families will explore the gardens, fields, and riverbanks that comprise MMM’s campus, identifying tracks, studying habitats and learning the importance of protecting Maine’s diverse ecology. In this program, families will create and share their own species of animal in a fun, active and educational game. All ages are welcome–content level is appropriate for ages 3+.
This program will be hosted outside on museum grounds. Please wear appropriate winter gear. Masks are required for everyone 5 years and older and strongly encouraged for those 2-4. Space is limited to 16 participants. Preregistration is advised to guarantee availability.
STEAMbox Family Workshops are designed to integrate STEM and creative arts skills into a cohesive and hands-on learning experience.
