STEAMbox Family Workshop: Maine Fish and Gyotaku Prints

February 10 @ 10:30 am - 11:30 am

Come join us for our STEAMbox program, where you will explore maritime topics through hands-on learning in STEM + the arts to create, build, and problem solve. All workshops are held on Saturdays from 10:30 am until 11:30 am. Content appropriate for ages 4 – 10 years, but all are welcome. Pre-registration is required, and opens one month in advance. Registration is only necessary for the child(ren) taking part in the activity and one accompanying adult (additional adults are welcome, but not required to register).

Did you know that the city of Bath has a sister city in Japan? Come hear the story of adventure, shipwrecks, and bravery that has connected Bath, ME to Tsugaru, Japan for over 100 years. Take part in the traditional fish printing artform of Gyotaku and learn how it was used as a record for fish caught.

STEAMbox programs are generously funded by First Federal Savings, allowing us to offer this program free to the public.
