Shipyards & Lighthouses Cruise Board the museum's comfortable cruise boat Merrymeeting to explore the lower Kennebec River where American shipbuilding began more than 400 years ago and continues today! Cruise up the river to Bath Iron Works and for spectacular views of the Navy's most advanced ships under construction. Downriver, enjoy a water view of the museum's historic Percy & Small Shipyard, as well as an up-close look at two of the Kennebec River's famed lighthouses: Doubling Point Light and the Kennebec Range Lights.  There's something for everyone on this cruise! Sail down the Kennebec aboard the historic schooner Mary E; now on the National Register of Historic Places and the only Kennebec-built schooner still afloat. Help us set and trim sails as our crew share tales from her colorful history, or just sit back and enjoy this unforgettable experience. You'll pass by the site of the Thomas E. Hagan yard where Mary E was built in 1906, see Doubling Point Light and the Kennebec Range Lights and get a unique view of Navy vessels under construction at Bath Iron Works. Space is limited; book your seats now. Running Friday and Saturday at 4 pm June 4-26;  Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday at 4 pm July 2-September 29. Members $45; nonmembers $56; 12 and under $45
