Learn why things float by building your own mini-boat out of recyclable materials. Learn about and experiment with concepts such as density, buoyancy, and displacement as you test your creations in our water lab! Space is limited to 16 participants. Preregistration is advised to guarantee availability. Masks are required for everyone 5 years and older, and strongly encouraged for those aged 2-4. Tickets include museum admission. STEAMbox Family Workshops are designed to integrate STEM and creative arts skills into a cohesive and hands-on learning experience.

Get the inside story of Bath’s iconic shipyard! This combination trolley tour/cruise includes a tour of the exhibit BIW: Building America’s Navy, a guided trolley ride past Bath Iron Works, and a one-hour narrated boat cruise. The tour begins in the immersive exhibit BIW: Building America’s Navy where you’ll experience a high-tech look at the people, processes, and ships of Bath Iron Works and discover why “Bath Built is Best Built.” Then board the trolley for a narrated ride past the shipyard stopping at key observation areas where your guide will interpret the work and process seen from that location. The trolley will then drop you off to board the museum’s cruise boat for a one-hour cruise featuring spectacular water views of modern shipbuilding construction and naval destroyers. Seating is very limited, reservations highly recommended. Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday, 12:30-3 pm, May 17-October 28. Members $42; nonmembers $52; 12 and under $33 Tour fees include museum admission. *The tour is  2.5 hours long. A special 30-minute cruise for our youngest sailors! These Saturday morning mini cruises depart from the Bath city dock at Linwood E. Temple Waterfront Park. See the City of Ships and Bath Iron Works from the water; cruise under the Carlton Bridge, and into the Sasanoa River, where you might spot the ospreys and eagles that live in the area. After returning to the dock, grab some goods at the Bath Farmer’s Market or do a little shopping downtown. Capacity is limited to 20 guests, book your seats now! The Bath Iron Works Story: By Land & By Sea

Get the inside story of Bath’s iconic shipyard! This combination trolley tour/cruise includes a tour of the exhibit BIW: Building America’s Navy, a guided trolley ride past Bath Iron Works, and a one-hour narrated boat cruise. The tour begins in the immersive exhibit BIW: Building America’s Navy where you’ll experience a high-tech look at the people, processes, and ships of Bath Iron Works and discover why “Bath Built is Best Built.” Then board the trolley for a narrated ride past the shipyard stopping at key observation areas where your guide will interpret the work and process seen from that location. The trolley will then drop you off to board the museum’s cruise boat for a one-hour cruise featuring spectacular water views of modern shipbuilding construction and naval destroyers. Seating is very limited, reservations highly recommended. Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday, 12:30-3 pm, May 17-October 28.
