Captain Kip Files owned and operated the Maine Windjammer Victory Chimes, the largest Windjammer in Maine, for over 30 years. In this free lecture, Captain Files will discuss his time with the Victory Chimes, as well as the historic and commercial importance of the Maine Windjammer fleet.

Come explore the microscopic world of plankton. The basis of our food web and responsible, in part, for the air we breathe, these microscopic organisms can be found in the waters of the Kennebec. Learn how to collect them and find them under a microscope. Then, use your knowledge to create you own plankton model in a race to the bottom.

Join us at the Maine Maritime Museum and learn to weave a recycled lobster line (rope) doormat with Kerin of Cape Porpoise Trading Company. This workshop will be held outdoors along the beautiful Kennebec River. Turn old lobster line into an eco-friendly, handmade (by you) mat for your home! These rugs are great for indoor or outdoor use. All weaving material is retired line used by Maine lobstermen.
