Discover the only intact historic shipyard in the U.S. where large wooden sailing vessels were built, including the schooner Wyoming, the largest sailing vessel built in the U.S. On this modified indoor presentation, docents share the story of the shipyard and the surviving buildings and workshops. In this richly illustrated Zoom lecture, Libby Bischof, Executive Director of the Osher Map Library and Smith Center for Cartographic Education and Professor of History at the University of Southern Maine, will discuss the work of several Maine women photographers at the turn-of-the-century, through the lens of their diverse experiences and worldviews and the larger context of amateur photography, with special emphasis on maritime connections.

For the first time, the Boatshop Yard Sale will also be on Community Day! Attention earlybirds, we will begin at 9 am! What can you expect? TOOLS! Power tools, heirloom-quality tools, woodworking and boatbuilding tools, right at the Boatshop on 263 Washington St.
Join us for our annual kick-off to the summer season! Admission is FREE and cruise tickets are just $10 (available at the door). Don't miss the raising of the flags over the Wyoming with a cannon salute at noon. Plus, tour the historic Percy & Small Shipyard, enjoy traditional skills demonstrations, and explore all of the museum's exhibits.
