In this program, visitors will be learning basic anatomy and adaptations of the whales that we see in the Gulf of Maine. They will also learn why the Gulf of Maine draws whales to feed every summer, and how they are connected in the Gulf of Maine food web.

In this program, visitors will be interacting with a model as they learn about the benefits of salt marshes as well as impacts of human activity and pollution on different water ecosystems.
Maine has a long history of fishing from salmon and trout to whales and lobster. The fishing industry has evolved over the years and Maine has evolved with it. Come and learn about the fish that can be found from the Kennebec River to the Gulf of Maine and take part in a traditional printing technique from our sister town of Shariki, Japan.
Discover the only intact historic shipyard in the U.S. where large wooden sailing vessels were built, including the schooner Wyoming, the largest sailing vessel built in the U.S. On this modified indoor presentation, docents share the story of the shipyard and the surviving buildings and workshops.
