Eric Darling: Drift Rope Project
Midcoast-based artist, Eric Darling, is pioneering a new frontier of upcycled art with his elaborate pot warp designs. Using the worn and brightly colored pot warp – or rope – cast-off by local lobstermen, Darling hopes to “create art with a mission” by recycling one of Maine’s largest industries’ waste into fine art. This exhibition showcases the versatility of pot warp as an artistic medium in both two and three-dimensional pieces, many of which will be on public display for the first time.
