The Bath Iron Works Story: By Land & Sea
Experience the full Bath Iron Works package! This tour gives the full “City of Ships” experience—a must-see for any naval or ship enthusiast. The tour begins in the immersive exhibit BIW: Building America’s Navy where you’ll get a high-tech look at the people, processes, and ships of Bath Iron Works and discover why “Bath Built is Best Built.” From there, you’ll board the City of Bath trolley for a narrated ride past the expansive yard. Your expert guide will detail the history of the yard and highlight key elements of the shipyard. Finally, the trolley will drop you off to board the museum’s cruise boat Merrymeeting for a one-hour cruise featuring a spectacular, close-up look at naval destroyers in the water. This is a must-see attraction for locals, friends and family, and tourists alike.
Tours (2.5 hours) begin at 12:30 pm, Select Weekdays, May 18–June 12; Monday–Friday, June 15–October 23.

The City of Bath Trolley is wheelchair accessible and can accommodate up to two wheelchairs. The Merrymeeting is also wheelchair accessible, with the exception of the restrooms on board. Golf cart rides are available between tour locations.
