Tickets are non-refundable, except in the event of a weather cancellation. Online ticket sales close at 5 am on the day of the cruise. Day-of cruise tickets must be purchased in person or by calling (207) 443-1316 x331. Merrymeeting is a 56′ motor vessel with a covered lower deck and open upper deck. Cruises run in light rain and other moderate weather conditions. Cruises may be cancelled in the event of severe or unsafe weather conditions or unmet minimum ticket sales, and cancellations are made by the Captain on the day of the cruise. If the Museum cancels a cruise, you will have the opportunity to reschedule or receive a refund.
Accommodations & Policies
- Accessible restrooms are located in the Maritime History Building and Visiting Yachtsman’s Building. Changing tables are available in all of the museum’s restrooms.
- Wheelchairs are available for loan at the Guest Services Desk.
- Service animals are welcome, but pets and support animals are restricted to the south end of campus and not permitted in any building. Dogs must be leashed; please clean up after your pet.
- Maine Maritime Museum is a smoke-free campus.
- While visiting the museum you may be photographed or filmed, and footage may be used in promotional materials.
Waiver
TIME LIMITATIONS – NOTICE:
TIME LIMITATION — PERSONAL INJURY — DEATH CLAIMS: MAINE MARITIME MUSEUM shall not be liable for any claim for loss of life or personal injury unless made in writing and lodged with Maine Maritime Museum at its office AT BATH, MAINE within six (6) months from the date when the death or injury occurred.
SUITS: SUITS AND ACTIONS TO RECOVER FOR LOSS OF LIFE OR PERSONAL INJURY TO PASSENGERS SHALL NOT BE MAINTAINABLE UNLESS INSTITUTED WITHIN ONE (1) YEAR FROM THE DATE WHEN DEATH OR INJURY OCCURRED. SUITS AND ACTIONS TO RECOVER FOR CLAIMS OTHER THAN PERSONAL INJURIES OR LOSS OF LIFE SHALL NOT BE MAINTAINABLE UNLESS COMMENCED WITHIN SIX (6) MONTHS FROM THE DATE WHICH THE CLAIM ACCRUED OR LOSS OCCURRED. FORUM FOR BRINGING ACTIONS FOR PERSONAL INJURY OR DEATH: IT IS AGREED BY AND BETWEEN THE PASSENGER AND MAINE MARITIME MUSEUM THAT ALL CLAIMS, DISPUTES AND MATTERS WHATSOEVER ARISING UNDER, IN CONJUNCTION WITH, OR RELATING TO THIS CONTRACT AND THE TRANSPORTATION FURNISHED HEREUNDER, SHALL BE COMMENCED, FILED AND LITIGATED, IF AT ALL, IN AND BEFORE THE UNITED STATES DISTRICT COURT FOR THE DISTRICT OF MAINE LOCATED IN PORTLAND, STATE OF MAINE, U.S.A., TO THE EXCLUSION OF THE COURTS OF ANY OTHER STATE, TERRITORY, OR COUNTRY. [46 USC §30508(b)];
LIMITATION – DAMAGES FOR EMOTIONAL, MENTAL OR PSYCHOLOGICAL INJURIES:
IT IS AGREED BY AND BETWEEN THE PASSENGER AND MAINE MARITIME MUSEUM THAT NEITHER THE OWNER, OPERATOR, NOR ANY CREWMEMBER, MANAGER, AGENT OR MASTER OF THE VESSEL SHALL BE LIABLE FOR THE INFLICTION OF EMOTIONAL DISTRESS, MENTAL SUFFERING, OR PSYCHOLOGICAL INJURY SUFFERED BY THE PASSENGER UNLESS SUCH EMOTIONAL DISTRESS, MENTAL SUFFERING, OR PSYCHOLOGICAL INJURY WAS:
(A) THE RESULT OF PHYSICAL INJURY TO THE PASSENGER CAUSED BY THE NEGLIGENCE OR FAULT OF A CREWMEMBER OR THE MANGER, AGENT, MASTER, OWNER, OR OPERATOR;
(B) THE RESULT OF THE PASSENGER HAVING BEEN AT ACTUAL RISK OF PHYSICAL INJURY, AND SUCH RISK WAS CAUSED BY THE NEGLIGENCE OR FAULT OF A CREWMEMBER OR THE MANGER, AGENT, MASTER, OWNER, OR OPERATOR; OR
(C) INTENTIONALLY INFLICTED BY A CREWMEMBER OR THE MANGER, AGENT, MASTER, OWNER, OR OPERATOR.
