Mariners Adventure Camp

Rising 6–8 Grade Students | Blacksmithing, coastal navigation, woodworking... There's more to a mariner than meets the eye.

Two youths in a workshop wearing safety gear, using a hammer and anvil for metalworking.

Give your child a chance of a lifetime to learn what it took to be a mariner in the Golden Age of Sail!

Campers will spend their week exploring history through traditional maritime craft and skill such as carpentry, blacksmithing, sailmaking, navigation, and/or marlinspike seamanship, guided by industry professionals. The week will include an expedition to Bailey Island to sail a traditionally-rigged schooner and opportunities to practice leadership and collaborative decisionmaking against the backdrop of the beautiful Kennebec river.
